I really miss him

Rhino Lightning at the Humane Society of Utah had a notepad tagged with a hope for his pet dog
Expressed to Rhino Lightning's new family, instructions that the three-year-old male boy gave were : should have his brindle fur washed monthly, even though he doesn't like water.

Rhino Lightning is also not too fond of snow or cats, but he 'loves to run around' and to sleep under blankets. 

Warns that Rhino Lightning's 'cheeks make a lot of slobber', but he's 'a good dog and he loves cuddles'. 
On another page, he hopes that his pet will find a good home and be able to keep his name. 
Most importantly, though, the child wants the dog's new owner to 'make sure he is in a safe house', where every night, he is told that 'I love and miss him'.  
'He was my puppy. I really hope he is in a good environment. I really miss him. I wish he knew that he was a pretty puppy.'

 
 
The child's family, who has three small children said that they were giving him up for adoption because he's too energetic when he plays and '​is unaware of his size. He wasn't a great fit for the youngest children in the house'.
DeAnn Shepherd of the Humane Society of Utah told Fox 13 that this is the first time an animal has been left at the shelter with a list of handwritten instructions from a child. 
'It's the first time that a child has done this, and it was very heartbreaking to see from his perspective his relationship and friendship with this dog, but we hope that he sees the story and knows that his best friend is going to find a new home', Shepherd said.

The Humane Society of Utah is looking for a new home for Rhino Lightning, preferably one with children at least eight years old 'who won't get knocked over when ​he ​zooms through the yard', spokeswoman Guinnevere Shuster told via an email.
Rhino Lightning is house-trained and smart, Shuster noted.
'Please remember, surrendering a pet is never an easy decision', the shelter wrote on its Facebook page. 'But, they are doing what is in the best interest of the pet'.
